Federal authorities have detained a man believed to have kidnapped and murdered an Indiana mother-of-two.

James McGhee, 38, was detained in Lake County on Wednesday night by the FBI and Indiana State Police. 

The FBI had offered an up to $10,000 reward for information pertaining to his whereabouts in relation to the death of 27-year-old Sidne-Nicole Buchanan, ABC News reports.  

The Gary, Indiana, native disappeared after attending a concert at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre in Tinley Park, Illinois, on July 27. She was reported missing, two days later. 

A body believed to be Buchanan's was found in the Thornton Lansing Road Nature Preserve in Illinois. The location where her body was found is roughly 20 minutes from her home in Gary, Indiana.

Family members explained to WGN TV that Buchanan had gone to the concert with a man who she had been seeing for a few months. 

Buchanan posted a Facebook Live video from the concert and a man who resembles McGhee can be seen in the early seconds of the clip.

The mother most recently worked as a dance instructor at the BeachFront Dance School in Gary. She had an 11-year-old daughter and a son who is nine.

The Northwest Indiana Times reported in August 2018 that McGhee would face three years of probation after pleading guilty to felony intimidation.

He was accused of kicking and punching his girlfriend. The woman was said to be pregnant with quadruplets, losing three of them after the attack.
