Did Anyone Win the $184 Million?
The winning Powerball numbers in Wednesday night's draw were 34, 38, 42, 61, and 62, and the Powerball was 19, while the Power Play was 2X. The jackpot was an estimated $184 million with a cash option of $125.6 million, but did anyone win the lottery last night?
Nobody matched all five numbers and the Powerball, so the jackpot will roll over to Saturday night's draw where it will be worth an estimated $200 million with a cash option of $136.5 million.
While nobody won the jackpot, three players matched all five numbers and won $1 million each. However, no players who matched all five numbers used the Power Play option, otherwise, they would have won $2 million each.
Eight players matched four numbers and the Powerball and won $50,000 each, while three additional players won $100,000 each by doing the same but using the Power Play.
More than 1,000 Powerball players won $100 each by matching either four numbers or three numbers and the Powerball, while more than 300 people opted for the Power Play and won $200 each.
More than 35,000 players won $7 each by matching either three numbers or two numbers and the Powerball, while nearly 10,000 players won $14 each using the Powerball.
Finally, more than 160,000 Powerball players won $4 by matching either one number and the Powerball or just the Powerball, and more than 136,000 players did the same but used the Power Play and won $8.
The next Powerball drawing will take place on Saturday, March 20, and the jackpot will be worth an estimated $200 million.
To take part in the next drawing, purchase a ticket for $2 per play from a licensed lottery retailer, with the option of adding Power Play to your ticket for an additional $1 per play.
The Power Play can multiply non-jackpot prizes by 2, 3, 4, 5, or 10 times, though the 10X multiplier is only in play when the advertised jackpot annuity is $150 million, so the 10X will not be in play this Saturday. Plus the Match 5 prize with Power Play is always $2 million and the multiplier number is randomly selected just before each drawing.
Sale cut-off times vary by lottery jurisdiction, but the deadline is usually an hour or two before the drawing, which takes place at 11 p.m. ET.
Players have to select five numbers from one to 69 for the white balls and one number from one to 26 for the Red Powerball, either using the play slip or by having the lottery terminal randomly select their numbers.
The Powerball is available to play in 45 states, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
