Valentín Barco gave an update on his substitution at the U20 World Cup.
Barco was substituted out for the Argentina U20 national team by coach Javier Mascherano during the team’s 3-0 win vs. Guatemala on Tuesday. He was substituted out after being kicked and fouled during the match.
The 18 year old has been one of Argentina’s stand out players at the U20 World Cup. Speaking to the media after the match, here is what Barco had to say about his substitution:
“It was a knock, it hurt a bit but well. We reached our first goal, we came looking for it, now to try and finish first in the group.”
He also commented on his exposure:
“I take it calmly. I try not to give it too much importance, not to lose my concentration.”
The Argentine said he is very proud to wear the shirt of the Argentina national team and thanked the fans:
“They always backed me and I try to return the affection with small details that make them happy.”
